| All-ACC Freshman team honorable mention selection in 2002... earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors Jan. 13, 2002 for his 19-point, six-rebound performance against NC State in his first return to his hometown of Raleigh, N.C... ranked in the top five of four different statistical categories for the Seminoles last season (blocked shots, assists, 3-point field goals made and steals)... one of the top all-around freshmen in the ACC during the 2001-02 season…the only player to rank among the top 10 freshmen in rebounds, scoring, blocked shots and steals during the season... ranked sixth among ACC freshmen in rebounds (3.7 rpg), seventh in scoring (7.1 ppg), seventh in blocked shots (0.6 bpg) and eighth in steals (0.8 spg)... also ranked 12th in assists (1.0 apg) and 15th in 3-point field goal percentage (.299)... as a prep senior he was rated as the No. 1 prospect in the state of North Carolina by recruiting guru Bob Gibbons... rated as the nation’s 16th best prospect by Brick Oettinger... rated as the 28th best prospect and No. 4 nationally among small forwards by The Sporting News... All-America third team selection by Parade Magazine following his senior season... the first McDonald’s All-American to sign with the Seminoles during the Steve Robinson era... the first McDonald’s All-American to play at Florida State since Randell Jackson signed with the Seminoles in 1995... the only player from the basketball rich state of North Carolina to earn the wonderful selection of playing in the McDonald’s All-American game.
