After being committed to Miami and USF Chandler Miami Northwestern DT Todd Chandler’s recruitment…
FSU Interested in Chandler
"The main reason I decommitted from Miami is they just slowed down my recruitment," said Chandler. "Some say they never really offered me, but it came down to I wasn't comfortable with the situation there. If they were treating me the way they were then how would it be when I got there?"
Louisville got a visit from Chandler a few weeks ago, and since then many feel they've taken the lead for him.
"With Coach Strong and his coaching staff I have bonded with all of them," said Chandler of the Cardinals. "I had a great visit there and I would say they are my number one coming off of the visit."
Last weekend Todd visited Syracuse. He told Scout.com's Matt Alkire that he had an "at home" feel with the Orange.
"The visit was real nice," Chandler stated. "I liked the players and coaches up there a lot and they have great fan support. I bonded with the coaches a lot and I really got into the history of the program with Jim Brown and Ernie Davis. As far as the coaching staff, we've had a tight bond since they started recruiting me last year and I feel real comfortable with them. I've always felt comfortable with the coaches and when I got on campus everyone just made me feel like I was already playing there with them. You could just sense that brotherhood that you want."
Recently the Seminoles have turned up their interest in Chandler. When Eddie Gran came to FSU he sparked the interest between the two.
"I've always been interested in FSU even when I was committed to Miami," said Chandler. "We had some back and forth conversations back then. When Coach Gran got to FSU he started recruiting me more. I had a great relationship with him when he was at Tennessee. Now he is at FSU and I am interested. I will be visiting on the 29th."
FSU needs to add as much talent and depth to the defensive line in this class. Chandlers says the coaches like his low center of gravity and the physical way he plays.
"Coach Gran told me that I fit there because they need defensive linemen," said Chandler. "They like how I have a low center of gravity and that I come off the ball well. I am strong and I can use my hands."
It looks like Chandler's decision will come down to Louisville, FSU or Syracuse. Once he visits FSU next week we'll get a clearer idea just where FSU stands at this time. Until then, stay tuned to NoleDigest for the latest on FSU's 2010 recruiting efforts.
