NoleDigest.com's Take: Rajion Neal

Florida State's looking for a running back in the 2010 recruiting class. As recruiting hits its last stretch over the next few months the Seminoles have seen some targets decide to go elsewhere. The coaches have been evaluating other backs; while doing so they found a new target in Rajion Neal. NoleDigest gives their take on his recruitment and the chances the ‘Noles have.

Florida State's been recruiting several running backs this year in the 2010 recruiting cycle. Marcus Lattimore, Eduardo Clements, Gio Bernard and a host of others are backs the coaches have targeted at some point this year. With these backs looking at another direction the coaches at FSU have targeted new backs.

Rajion Neal is the latest ball carrier to get an offer from the Seminoles. The Mississippi State commitment thought he had wrapped up his commitment when he made his decision in August. Since then several schools have offered, and the offer from FSU has caught his attention.

When the offer came through Neal was surprised because he hadn't been in a lot of contact with the coaching staff. After the offer came Neal got a chance to talk to Coach Fisher.

"FSU had not really been in contact with me, but Coach Allen came to see me play and offered me that Sunday following," said Neal. "I had been to their Junior Day, but other than letters it wasn't much. Coach Fisher told me after they offered that I am the type of back they are looking for. They want me to come down to see the facilities. They like how I am a big back with speed that can also catch the ball out of the backfield."

NoleDigest.com's Take

The offer from FSU was big for Neal and it is something he and his family are going to consider. Rajion is very thankful for the offer and he says he is humbled by it, but this is a family decision as his mother, father and uncle are helping advise him during his recruitment.

There are some people who feel that if the coaches can get Neal to visit there will be a good chance that they can get him to flip his commitment. Since the offer there hasn't been much talk with Neal, thus his commitment remains firm to the Bulldogs. If he comes in for the Maryland game like he had talked about, Rajion's recruitment will get interesting.

NoleDigest feels that a good visit and more attention will lead to Neal becoming a Seminole when Signing Day comes in February.
