Elite Point Guard Talks FSU Official
While Ian has spent most of the past two years developing into the player he is today by locking horns with guys like John Wall, he has long been a commitment to Florida State. This weekend he was in Tallahassee to take his official visit. By all accounts it didn't disappoint.
"It was great, and I love FSU," said Miller of his visit. "Pierre Jordan was my host. We get along so well, and we are already like a family. They call me lil' bro or "Millertime", but I love my future teammates, especially Okaro White."
One of the biggest influences on Ian's decision to come to FSU was Leonard Hamilton. Coach Hamilton has a lot of ties to the Miller family. Combine that with the chance to compete in the ACC Miller says he knew FSU was a great option. Ian told NoleDigest that he had a great conversation with Hamilton while he was on his visit.
"I talked a lot with Coach," said Miller. "We talked at dinner, at the team workouts and at breakfast before I left today (Sunday). I like the family atmosphere and how people in the city already have love for me because I have been committed. I love the coaching staff, too. They feel that I can be better than Toney Douglas if I apply myself and listen and let them coach me up."
"I think we will be on top of the ACC this year and that is exciting," continued Miller. "The coaches want me to come in and contribute immediately. I can't wait."
With his senior season just around the corner Ian has his sights set on winning another state title. All-American games are icing on the cake for Miller as he's focusing long term in his preparation for FSU.
"My goal this year is to win another state title," said Miller of his senior year. "I really don't care about All-American games because it's all politics, but it is going to show in college. I want to make sure I prepare so I can come right in and contribute to the team!"
Ian wanted to say something to the FSU fans that have been supporting him since he committed last October.
"I can't wait to play for the ‘Noles," said Miller. "I love them!"
