New York, NY – The National Football League released its annual kickoff report on Tuesday and, as usual, Florida State is among the most productive colleges in the nation when it comes to preparing players for the NFL. Florida State was third overall with 41 former players on opening day rosters in 2007. The report also showed that Florida State has more offensive tackles (5) and safeties (6) playing in the NFL than any other school. FSU was also tied with two schools for the most running backs in the league with five.

Seminoles have been making a big impact in the NFL for years and 2007 is no different. Arizona Cardinal Darnell Dockett is up for GMC Defensive Player of the Week after his performance versus the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday. Teammate Anquan Boldin already has three TD’s this season while Jet receiver Laveranues Coles has four. Philadelphia Eagle Broderick Bunkley has two sacks on the year and Dockett is already up to 5.5.

The Seminoles’ 41 players on NFL rosters matches the exact number of FSU players on the rosters of NFL teams to start the 2006 season.
