FSU sweeps Tennessee, wins 19-7 Sunday

Seminoles start the season off right with three-straight wins over the visiting Volunteers.

The Florida State Seminoles have started their 2007 season exactly the way they wanted to.

After picking up two victories over Tennessee on Friday and Saturday, the 'Noles (3-0) defeated the Volunteers 19-7 Sunday to complete the sweep.

For the game, starting pitcher Ryan Strauss earned the victory after pitching five innings. He gave up four runs on six hits and struck out two.

Offensively, the Seminoles were led by short stop Mark Hallberg and his three RBI. Buster Posey, Mark Gildea, Ohmed Danesh and Rauri O'Conner all added two more RBI of their own.

True freshman D'Vontrey Richardson had an RBI as well.

FSU recorded 22 hits in the contest compred to 11 by Tennessee. The Volunteers committed four errors.

The Seminoles return to the diamond Friday for a three-game set with UNC-Asheville.
