Even though many media outlooks gave the Noles very little chance of securing a verbal commitment of the Scout.com No.1 player in the country, Myron Rolle, John Lilly and staff came through again ala Antone Smith from the class of 2004.

Today, on ESPN News, Safety Myron Rolle ended all the suspense and he chose his childhood favorite Florida State.

“My goal is to graduate college and then play professional football,” he said. “After pro football, I want to enter medical school. I want to attend a medical program of the school that I got my undergraduate from because I would have already been settled in there. One advantage Florida State has is that they are new medical school with cutting-edge technology.”

Rolle reports a 4.0 GPA/1970 SAT (new version)--no retest.

In January, the Army-American will enroll at Florida State and he will have an opportunity to compete for the starter rover job in spring practice.

“Florida State is recruiting me as a strong-safety and they feel like I have the body type to make an impact there,” he said. “They are low on the depth chart at that position.”

As a junior, he registered 83 tackles, six sacks and four interceptions sacks.
