Bobby Visits South Florida WR
Posted Jan 27, 2005
Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas is the home of one of the most underrated wide receiver prospects in the country. However, with recent offers from Florida State and Oklahoma, the 6-foot-1 and 185 pound standout is becoming a household name.
“On Monday Coach Bobby Bowden was in my house,” wide receiver
said. “A couple of months ago I couldn’t imagine coach in my living room. It was a great experience. He talked about why he wanted me to play for
and how I could contribute.”
Goodman has been on two official visits but he hasn’t had that special feeling yet. This upcoming weekend he’ll see what the Noles have to offer.
“I haven't experienced that wow feeling yet,” he said. “I’m I get that on my Florida State visit, then I’ll commit.”
Lately, the South Florida standout has been a very popular name among recruiting fans. He has only played two years of high school football and as a junior he was buried on the depth chart behind more experienced players. His senior year was his coming out party.
“I just waited my turn,” he said. “Inside I knew what type of player I was. It was a big challenge but I had the hunger. I feel like I worked harder than any player in the state.”
As a senior, he caught 40 passes for 501 yards with seven going for touchdowns. He added three more touchdowns on kick returns.
Goodman is an excellent student who is on track to qualify academically.
