Three-Star DB is Coming to Town

This upcoming weekend one of the most underrated defensive backs in the country will travel with two of teammates on an official visit to Tallahassee. The Territory.org caught up with the 5-foot-11 and 180 pound standout to get his pre visit thoughts on the Seminoles.

"I'm leaving on Friday with Russell (Ball) and Clarence (Ward) to visit Florida State," cornerback Korey Mangum of La Marque (TX) said. "I want to go check out the players and coaches so I can see if I can fit in there."

His cousin Russell Ball and friend Clarence Ward are both Seminole commitments. Will that be a factor in his decision?

"No, but they are talking to me about it," he said. "I need to do what's best for me."

Where do the Noles stand with Kansas, Houston and TCU?

"They are pretty high on my list," he said. "After my Florida State visit, I will go home and think about it. I'll probably make a decision on February 1st"

Mangum, who on track to qualify academically, really turned some heads out in San Antonio during Army All-American practices.

"I thought I matched up well," he said. "Fred Rouse is straight. He's got real nice hands."
