One of the top defensive players in the Southeast will be heading south to play college football. The 6-foot-2 and 230 pound four-star standout has pleaded his allegiance to the Garnet & Gold.
Going into this year one of
Florida State
’s biggest recruiting needs was at defensive end. The coaching staff has done a nice of addressing that need by landing two very good pass-rushers in
Justin Mincey
and
Everette Brown
.
Tonight on Countdown to signing day defensive end
Everette Brown
of Wilson (NC) Beddingfield verbally committed to the Florida State Seminoles.
“Florida State is getting a kid that had over 100 tackles on defense and over 40 catches for 800 yards on offense,” Beddingfield Head Coach Tom Nelson said. “Everette never comes off the field. Once he gets the chance to concentrate on one side of the ball, he’s going to really be something special. His motor never stops and he such a good kid.”
Why did Brown choose FSU?
“It’s a great opportunity to go into and have a chance to play for a legendary coach and get a great education at the same time,” Brown said.
Brown grew up a
North Carolina
fan and distance from home has always been a factor with him. However, the excitement of playing for the Seminole defense and the excellent recruiting job of recruiting coordinator John Lilly was too much for the Tar Heels to overcome.
The Scout.com No.7 rated prospect in the state of North Carolina will still officially visit North Carolina (1/14) and
Virginia Tech
(1/21).
As a senior, he recorded 16 sacks.
As a junior, Brown had 110 tackles and eight sacks on defense along with 24 catches for 400 yards on offense.
Brown is an excellent student who is on track to qualify.
Brown becomes the 10th Seminole verbal commitment for the class of 2005.
