South Georgia DE Says Yes to the Seminoles

Posted Dec 5, 2004

One the top defensive end prospect in the country was leaning heavily towards Florida State. Tonight Seminole defensive tackle coach Odeel Haggins visited the No. 8 rated pass-rusher in the country. Did he change his status?

“I went ahead and committed to Florida State,” Justin Mincey of Folkston (GA) Charlton Country. “I won’t be taking anymore visits other than Florida State. The Seminoles are best place for me."

Why is it the best place for him?

“It’s everything,” he said. “The coaches and the players are great. I will have my knee scoped now that the season is over. The next time I put on pads, it will be at Florida State.”

Last night, Mincey helped lead his team to a state championship victory over Buford.

Mincey hasn’t qualified academically yet but he’s getting close.
