Noles Offer Miami Safety

Having already signed
J.R. Bryant
in February, Florida State coaches have their eyes on another Miami Killian defensive back. The Seminoles offered Thursday, causing the South Florida standout to re-evaluate his current top five.
“It changes things a bit,”
Demetrius Morley
said. “It was great to get (the offer) from Coach Steele. Right now I have a picture of where I want to go but it’s too early to tell at this point.
”
One place it is very likely that Morley will end up is in Tallahassee – for this July’s summer camp. The cornerback said that he is anxious to receive his camp materials from
Florida State
before making a decision on which camps to attend.
“Florida State’s camp is probably at the top of my list,” he said. “I’ll probably go there and maybe Florida and another school.”
Morley’s skills aren’t limited defensive situations. Morley is to punts what current Florida State safety
B.J. Ward
is to field goals. Last season, Morley blocked four punts. As a sophomore, he blocked eight and four in one game alone.
“I real quick coming off the end,” he said. “A lot of teams had trouble picking me up but now they are getting two, three bodies near me.”
Morley has also blocked two field goals in his career, one in the state playoffs last season.
With Bryant and fellow
Miami
native
Trevor Ford
already in the fold, Florida State may have a slight edge for Morley’s services over all other comers.
“They’re already starting to talk to me about coming up here,” he said. “I’ve played with and against those guys a long time.”
