Florida State heads into the Miami game having lost five of the last seven and in danger of falling out of contention of an NCAA tournament bid. A home loss to Miami would end all thoughts of that. The Seminoles come in with a 14-9 record and are 5-6 in ACC play. Miami comes in with an 11-12 record and are a dismal 2-8 in ACC play. Florida State beat Miami in Miami back in January 63-53. The Seminoles will hope to replicate that score tonight.
Miami is led by senior guard Rion Brown who averages 14.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He is the only Hurricane that averages double figures. Senior guard Garrius Adams is their next highest scorer at 9.8 points. Miami is 343rd in the nation in scoring offense and 308th in field goal percentage. The Hurricanes are, However, very good on the defensive end as they are 10th in scoring defense.
Florida State has seen a recent change at the top of their point scoring list as sophomore guard Aaron Thomas has passed senior guard Ian Miller. Thomas averages 13.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Miller averages 12.7 points and 3.2 assists per game, but it is unknown when he will be available due to an ankle injury that he sustained in the Clemson game last week. Senior forward Okaro White rounds out the Seminoles in double figures as he also averages 12.7 points to go with his 6.8 rebounds per game.
