Virginia defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi has signed with Florida State, adding another elite defensive line prospect to an already loaded class. Nnadi is the third-ranked defensive tackle prospect in the nation.
Nnadi is 6'2, 295 pounds and built similarly to departed junior defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan. He is an explosive player with strong hands and can play with a low pad level. Nnadi projects as a nose tackle in the FSU system and should be especially disruptive in one-gap situations, though he should be capable of two gapping, especially as he continues to add strength in a college strength and nutrition system.
Nnadi is one of the most likely recruits to see the field in year one, as there is some question about how FSU will replace Jernigan in 2014. Nnadi chose Florida State over Virginia Tech.
