Seminoles in the Senior All-Star Games

Five former Seminoles will play in the upcoming senior all-star football games.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The national champion Florida State football team will have five former players at upcoming senior all-star games.

Defensive tackle Demonte McAllister suited up for the East team in Saturday’s East-West Shrine Game held at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. at 4 p.m. ET. The East-West Shrine Game will air live on the NFL Network.

McAllister, a fifth-year senior from Tampa, Fla., made 22 tackles during the 2013 season, including one stop in the VIZIO BCS National Championship.

During his four-year Seminole career, McAllister totaled 76 tackles, including 13.0 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.

The following Saturday, Jan. 25, four Seminoles – Terrence Brooks, Christian Jones, Telvin Smith and Bryan Stork – will compete in the Senior Bowl at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. The game will also air live on the NFL Network at 3 p.m. CT.

All four All-ACC seniors will dress for the South roster.

Brooks, a safety from Dunnellon, Fla., had 56 tackles and 8.0 tackles for loss in 2013 as one of the leaders of the nation’s No. 1 scoring defense (12.1 ppg) and No. 1 pass defense (156.6 yards per game). An All-America First Team selection by CBSSports.com, Brooks was outstanding in the VIZIO BCS National Championship, tallying six tackles, a tackle for loss and a pass break-up.

Jones, a linebacker and rush end, captured All-ACC Second Team accolades from the media and coaches in 2013, while finishing with 56 tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and a team-leading six quarterback hurries. The Orlando, Fla., native had seven tackles in the VIZIO BCS National Championship and finished his career with 225 tackles and 24 tackles for loss.

Smith, a linebacker from Valdosta, Ga., was Florida State’s leading tackler (90), which included a career-best 15 stops in the VIZIO BCS National Championship. Smith capture all-conference honors in addition to SI.com All-America honorable mention accolades. In 2013, he became the first Seminole in 20 years to return two interceptions for touchdowns in a season, and he wrapped up his career making 214 tackles and 29 TFLs. Stork, a redshirt senior from Vero Beach, Fla., was the nation’s premier center. He captured consensus All-America honors and won the Rimington Trophy. Stork was a leader on an offense that set the national record for points (723) and rolled up FSU and ACC single season record for total offense (7,267 yards), points per game (51.6) and yards per play (7.67). He helped redshirt freshman Jameis Winston put up record-breaking numbers and become the youngest player ever to win the Heisman Trophy.
