Decision in Winston Case on Thursday

State Attorney Willie Meggs will announce his decision in the Jameis Winston investigation on Thursday at 2pm.

WCTV and the Tallahassee Democrat are reporting that State Attorney Willie Meggs will announce his decision in the Jameis Winston sexual assault investigation on Thursday at 2pm EST. The State Attorney's Office has been investigating the year-old case for almost a month at this point, after the case was moved back to active status.

In our view, although no indication of the decision has been made, it seems highly unlikely that charges would be announced at such a press conference, as it seems more likely that Winston would be arrested and booked once it was decided that charges should be filed.

On the flip side, if not charging Winston, it is in the best interest of the State Attorney's Office to ensure that every possible piece of the investigation is airtight in order to satisfy the media microscope that would surely be applied to such a decision. Recommended Stories
