After speaking with multiple sources close with Christian Jones on Monday, Noledigest.com reported that Jones was leaning towards returning for his senior season. But, we've now learned that may not be the case anymore.

Jones was supposed to meet with head coach Jimbo Fisher upon his return from the American Football Coaches Convention to discuss his decision. We can’t confirm at this time if that has happened or if Jones is still waiting to sit down with Fisher.

But, it’s no secret that Jones had a very close relationship with former Florida State linebackers coach Greg Hudson. We're told that when Hudson officially accepted to become the new defensive coordinator at Purdue earlier this week, Jones began having second thoughts.

Still awaiting an official announcement from the school, but it looks like Jones might be leaning towards leaving for the NFL now. As with everything this time of year, though, it’s merely speculation.

If Jones were to leave school, he would join defensive end Bjoern Werner, cornerback Xavier Rhodes, and most likely offensive tackle Menelik Watson as juniors who have opted to leave after their junior season.
