Duke Football Adds Four January Enrollees

Zanca, Edwards, Mann, and Boehme have all enrolled in Durham and will play in Spring Practice

DUAHAM, N.C. – Duke head football coach David Cutcliffe announced on Wednesday that four student-athletes – Parker Boehme, Evrett Edwards, Quay Mann and Dominic McDonald – have joined the Blue Devil program. All four graduated from high school last month and have enrolled at Duke for the 2013 spring semester.

Boehme is a 6-2, 220-pound native of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and played quarterback under former Duke football letterman Adam Geis at Sandalwood High School. As a junior, Boehme accounted for 3,202 yards and 40 touchdowns and earned all-state recognition before his senior campaign was cut short due to injury. Geis lettered four seasons (1994-95-96-97) as a wide receiver with the Blue Devils.

A 5-11, 175-pound native of Woodbridge, Va., Edwards played wide receiver and defensive back at Woodbridge High School for Kevin Smith. Edwards, a two-time first team all-district selection, posted career totals of 107 tackles, 10 interceptions and 21 pass breakups.

Mann is a 5-9, 185-pound native of Rocky Mount, N.C., and played defensive back while totaling over 900 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior at Northern Nash High School under Mickey Crouch. A three-time all-conference pick, Mann was selected to the North Carolina squad for the annual 76th Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.

A 6-2, 240-pound native of Longwood, Fla., McDonald played linebacker at Lake Brantley High School for George Clayton. A first team 8A all-state selection as a senior, McDonald was selected to play in the Florida North-South All-Star game played on December 19, 2012 in Sebring, Fla.

Duke finished the 2012 season with a 6-7 overall record and made the program's first bowl game appearance since 1994. The Blue Devils will return 16 starters and 46 lettermen in 2013 for Cutcliffe's sixth season at the helm of the program.
