UA Game: Florida Players (defense)

Several Florida players are competing in the Under Armour All-American Game this Friday night. Lets take a closer look at the defensive players in the game.

DT Demarcus Walker -- Widely considered the top defensive prospect in the greater Jacksonville area this year, Walker is an elite level talent who committed to Alabama early in the recruiting process. Florida never stopped recruiting him, and he is set to visit them next weekend.

DT Caleb Brantley -- One of the top interior defensive linemen in north Florida this year, Brantley is a solid player and made a real early commitment to Florida. However, he seems to be wavering a bit and Florida State is still very much in the running.

DT Quay Bain -- A talented two-way lineman who spent most of the year injured or playing on the offensive side of the ball, Bain was recruited as an athletic defensive tackle. He made his commitment earlier today when he chose LSU.

DL Joey Bosa -- The son of a former first round draft pick, Bosa helped St. Thomas Aquinas win a state title this season. He's a tremendous player who could play end or tackle in college. He made an early commitment to Ohio State.

LB Matthew Thomas -- An elite level talent at the linebacker position, Thomas helped his team win a state championship this season. At 6-foot-4 and 210, he's a tremendous athlete and is well coached. The five-star player is set to visit Florida State, Alabama, Miami, USC, and Georgia before making a final decision.

LB Quinton Powell -- A very fast and athletic linebacker prospect, Powell played a lot of defensive end at Mainland High. He committed to Florida early on but has backed off that and will now take visits to South Carolina and USC later this month.

CB Vernon Hargreaves -- Widely considered the top cover corner in the entire state this year, Hargreaves is the son of a college coach who has built a good resume. The Wharton High standout committed to Florida early in the recruiting process.

CB Artie Burns -- A tremendous talent from one of the state's premier programs (Miami Northwestern), Burns has the size, athletic ability, and physicality to play cornerback (where Miami recruited him at) or safety. He will stay home and be a Hurricane.

S Marcell Harris -- At 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, Harris was a tremendous safety at Dr. Phillips this season after coming over from South Lake High. He might even grow into an outside linebacker in college -- at Florida.

S Leon McQuay -- The talented safety prospect from Armwood is long and athletic, and makes a lot of plays. He's already taken five official visits -- Florida State, Oregon, Michigan, Vanderbilt, and USC and a decision is coming shortly.

S Keanu Neal -- All this kid did at South Sumter was make plays and all he's been doing this week at practice is seemingly making plays. He is already committed to Florida, and has been for a long time.

P Sean Covington -- Widely considered the state's top punter prospect, Covington has a huge leg and has already committed to UCLA. Recommended Stories
