Walker talks about Nebraska commitment

The wide receiver position is one that Nebraska needs go to six to seven men deep at. And out of those six to seven players there are typically two groups that look physically "different". It's always good to have a receiver that can athletically and physically bridge the two positions like Dominic Walker can.

Dominic Walker committed to Nebraska over the weekend at the O-D Game in Houston. The 6-foot-1 and 185-pound wide receiver from Orlando (Flor.) Evans says that the official visit and everything that Nebraska could provide put them over the top for his services.

"I am back on Florida," Walker said. "It felt good to commit at the Offense-Defense game. The official visit to Nebraska really put them over the top for me.

"I really like the faculty, the atmosphere, the fans, the staff and the chance to go in there and play right away. They had all of the things that I looked for in a school."

When you watch Walker play you don't see him just as a true "X" or "Z". He's actually a player that can line up at both spots and play both positions equally well at Nebraska.

"I think that I can do some things that some of the current players on the team can't. I can move around a little bit. I can line up wide and at slot. I just played both at the all-star game."

The word out of the O-D practices all week was that Walker looked good against the other players. Walker thought he played well all week and a solid week of preparation led to a solid game performance the other day.

"I thought that I performed great all week in the practices and workouts. In the game I did what I had to do and it was really about how doing great in practice can lead to a great game. I had lots of fun."

Nebraska fans have some concerns about Walker taking other visits. He doesn't deny that he has a desire to do that, but he says that he's solid to Nebraska and the other trips would just be to have some fun.

"I am considering taking other visits. I might take one to Pitt on the 11th and I am probably going to take one to North Carolina State too.

"I am pretty much solid still to Nebraska. I might just take those two trips to just have fun and stuff. I am solid to Nebraska."
