SPARTANBURG - Four-star offensive guard prospect Tyrone Crowder recently narrowed his list of favorites down to two.

Clemson and Georgia make up that final two.
“I eliminated UNC the other week. I’m trying go get this whole recruiting process over with, so I decided to narrow it by one more,” Crowder told
CUTigers
after Monday morning’s practice at the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.
Why the Tigers and Bulldogs?
“They’ve been recruiting me the longest. They’ve been recruiting me since my freshman year. They’ve kind of been there, starting up the relationship.”
Clemson sent
Dan Brooks
and
Robbie Caldwell
to Richmond High School [Rockingham, N.C.] earlier this month.
Dabo Swinney
will have an in-home visit next month.
The Tigers’ coaches will have Crowder in for an official visit on January 11.
Georgia has yet to send any coaches by this month. No official to Athens has been set.
“I’m going to try to get it done after those officials,” Crowder said. “If push comes to shove, I might end up committing earlier, before my officials.”
In the meantime, Crowder will be focused on the Shrine Bowl. He’s starting at left tackle for the North Carolina team.
“The first day was good. We’ve got to learn a whole new, different offense,” Crowder said. “I won’t say it’ll take a long time, you’ve just got to get used to the plays.”
He’s having fun rubbing elbows with some of the best prospects from North and South Carolina.
“A bunch of people, different personalities, we’re having fun just joking around, meeting new people,” Crowder said.
