With the Florida 7A playoffs in full swing, Virgile has kept his focus on helping his team bring home a championship. Although he still remains uncertain on a college decision, he says his lone official visit to Wake Forest the weekend of the Boston College game was a good one.
"I really loved it up there," Virgile said on his trip to Winston-Salem. "I loved everything about it. The area around campus is nice, the coaches were all great, and there's a lot of players on the roster from my part of the state. It felt like I was back at home. Kevis Jones was my player-host. He's actually one of my teammate's [at STA] Godbrother.
"When I was there, I spent a whole lot of time with Coach Jackson. I'd be really glad if he's my position coach. He's had many cases of coaching up players to the NFL and I think he could most certainly do the same with me."
Virgile, 6-foot-3, 220-pounds, holds scholarship offers from numerous Division 1 programs would like to make a couple more campus visits before he makes a final decision.
"I'm not going to wait until Signing Day," Virgile explained, "but I may not announce until later on. I'm going to take a visit to UCF. That's the only one I have scheduled now, but I'm also looking at going to Houston, West Virginia and Louisville."
"The main think I'm looking for is a college that will prepare me athletically and academically. It's my goal to reach the NFL. Even if I achieve that goal for two year or 14 years, I need to be able to do something afterward. I'll still have a long life to live after football, so I want to be prepared to be successful when it's over."
