Demarcus Croaker committed to Murray State during a visit on Sunday.
“I love the school a lot,” Croaker told Scout.com. “I really like the coaching staff. I just feel like it’s the right fit for me. I think I’ll be able to come in and take my game to the next level and better myself as a person.”
Croaker, a 6-foot-3 guard out of Orlando (Fla.) Jones, said he also considered Texas, but went with Murray State because of their loyalty throughout his recruitment and the visit he took this past weekend.
“The trip won me over,” Croaker told Scout.com.
“They’ve been on me from the jump and since my recruitment started,” he added. “I was their number one target from the start. I talked to Isaiah Cannon. Knowing how he came here and how he made an impact on their program, I think I can do the same thing.”
Croaker impressed on the summer circuit playing with the Florida Rams. He’s an impressive athlete that is capable of knocking down deep jumpers.
“I think I fit into their offense great,” Croaker said. “It fits my style of play. I’ll sit down and play defense and I like to get up and down the floor.”
Croaker is regarded as a three-star prospect.
