Against Godby he was playing an outside linebacker/defensive end position. On some downs his hand was in the dirt. On others he was standing up.
Williams has a good frame and long arms. He certainly has the appearance of being taller than 6-1. He's quick, especially off the ball. Williams shows a good, initial burst upfield and downhill. He's aggressive and really gets after the quarterback. On this night he overran Godby signal caller J.T. Bradwell on a few plays. All Bradwell had to do was step up slightly in the pocket to avoid Williams.
Overall, this kid plays the part. He's athletic and fast and just needs to continue to develop. Williams currently holds verbal scholarship offers from Florida State, North Carolina and Ole Miss. There's no question that he's on track to be one of the better defensive recruits from the state capitol next season.
Below are a few highlights of Williams from the Lincoln/Godby game last Thursday.
