Kendall Randolph

Cornerback Kendall Randolph is yet another big time defensive back from Tallahassee (Fla) Lincoln.

Florida high school football power Tallahassee Lincoln has been one of the state's best programs for over a decade. During that stretch they have produced many elite prospects. Over a stretch about a decade ago they had a secondary that consisted of five and four-star prospects like Antonio Cromartie, Pat Watkins, Craphonso Thorpe, Greg Threat, Larry Williams, and Ryan Gilliam. Amazingly those guys were all on the same Lincoln team.

Now, they have a cornerback in Kendall Randolph that Trojan coach Yusuf Shakir believes is just as talented.

"There's no question," Shakir said. "What I love about Kendall is that he has good size (6-0) and is physical. He also has quickness and outstanding ball skills."

College football programs have already taken notice of this 2014 recruit. All the in-state programs have offered him but the Gators while South Carolina, Auburn, Georgia and Arkansas have offered him as well.

"It's a great feeling," Randolph said. "But I am not worried about that stuff right now. We just have to keep our focus and bounce back."

Randolph is referring to their first loss of the season at the hands of rival Godby last Thursday. He knows his team gets a do over, as the playoffs start this coming Friday.

"We have to correct our mistakes and get back on our feet," Randolph said. "We have to have a short term memory. It's a new season."

In the meantime, Lincoln just hopes he continues to play like the other great players in the secondary that have roamed the Lincoln hallways.

"I have to carry on the legacy," Randolph said. "It's an honor and I am proud to do it."
